E-Referral Specialist Home Health

Shift/Availability Requirements:

  • This is a part-time position scheduled for 29 hours a week.

  • Days/hours of availability: Tuesday and Wednesday from 12pm-5pm EST & Thursday and Saturday from 8am-6pm EST.

  • Available to work 2 holidays a year. Based on business needs, additional holiday coverage may be required.

As an E-Referral Specialist you will report to the E-Referral Supervisor. You will be an important part of the referral process as this role is the initial contact point for the client or referral source to promote the continuity of care. You will be responsible for data collection and documentation, compliance, and follow up on the initial referral process and decision.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor multiple e-referral systems to identify new referrals and manage alerts and notifications.

  • Monitor email for request to pull referrals from all applicable referral systems. Perform follow-up and manage all related communication.

  • Scan documentation to determine patient eligibility for services (service area, orders, insurance, etc.)

  • Monitor status of all referrals received, follow up with each throughout process, reports on status weekly.

  • Communicate with branch, sales, leadership by email or phone for status updates and referral decisions.

  • Daily management of ERST log with all referrals and ROCs decisions.

  • Maintain acceptable productivity level, as determined by work assignment and departmental standards.

  • Comply with and follow all regulatory compliance areas, policies & procedures, and company best practices.

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent

  • Can type a minimum of 40 wpm

  • Comprehend and apply principles of basic math while analyzing data and generating reports

JOB SUMMARY

This position supports the department by reviewing, researching and preparing incoming client and provider submissions for next steps as it relates to No Surprise Act. Position will perform a variety of administrative duties to ensure proper processing of information timely and accurately to maintain departmental quality and turn around requirements.

DUTIES

  1. Analyze email and/or portal submissions to create cases, attach appropriate documentation, populate applicable required system fields, prepare submission accordingly for next steps.
    2. Perform timely data entry in all applicable systems and perform timely outreach to providers and/or clients to obtain necessary information.
    3. Perform claim and system research and determine next steps for appropriate routing, which may include adjustment of medical claims.
    4. Log information derived from written and verbal communications using detailed and accurate documentation.
    5. Meet required production and quality standards.
    6. Provide excellent customer service and strive to continuously improve service delivery according to departmental and corporate guidelines and principles.
    7. Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
    8. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $17 per hour.  Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity.  This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.

Job Purpose

To answer incoming telephone calls and alarms from elderly and medically at-risk individuals, referred to as Subscribers, and triage their needs with designated responders, including non-emergency and emergency responders, to obtain the appropriate level of assistance in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Respond to incoming calls and alarms by identifying the type of help required and coordinating timely and appropriate assistance according to established protocols and procedures.

  • Ensure that all customer interactions are conducted in a professional and caring manner resulting in a high level of customer service.

Obtain requested revisions to Subscriber data and ensure updates are accurately entered into the appropriate data management system, Mastermind.

Perform off-phone tasks as required, including call back queue work, in accordance with established protocols.

Troubleshoot maintenance alarms, when applicable, and home communicator issues to help ensure the Subscriber’s service remains functional and uninterrupted.

  • Meet departmental standards for after-call work, average handle time, and case quality.
  • Adhere to all company and departmental policies and practices.
  • Ensure that all required training is completed within expected timeframes.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; GED evidence required.

Call center or customer service experience. Professional and courteous telephone manner.

Fluency in English with excellent verbal communication skills.

Proficient computer and Microsoft Windows skills, including the ability to navigate multiple systems, use standard office applications, enter information accurately, and troubleshoot routine technology issues with minimal assistance.

Deep compassion and empathy for elderly and medically at-risk individuals is highly desirable.

Ability to handle routine and repetitive tasks at a varying pace.

Satisfactory completion of all required pre-employment screenings, including background check, drug test, CORI check, and fingerprinting.
